    • Yep. My musical tastes began to go very specific, a bit narrow in 1976-77 after a soccer buddy of mine introduced me to Rush, and even better… Neil Peart. That’s when I began venturing away from mainstream music—played repeatedly over all radio dials and frequencies—then soon discovered the genres of hard rock, metal, followed by punk-rock, industrial, synthpop/futurepop, and EBM/trance. 😄 This was all due to football/soccer taking me around the world, mostly Europe, and I was being exposed to all those new genres—yep, and believe it or not I first discovered Howard Jones while playing in the Netherlands and Belgium in 1980, if that tells ya anything:

As they sometimes innocently but arrogantly proclaim here in Texas in comical irony… “Texas is like a whole ‘nother country.” Man, I can’t tell ya just how true that is on SO MANY levels! 🙄 Anyway, what Mark Twain once penned:

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.”

Twain’s words could not be MORE profoundly true than the Sun rises in the east and sets in the west, right? 😉
