Why History Repeats

The history of warfare disasters by command blunders in the present day, in the modern era, and as far back as the Roman and Macedonian Empires, too often imparts the painful reality that if supreme leaders of those belligerent nations fail to take heed or ignore lessons from past colossal warfare tragedies, then they are doomed to repeat them; most often at a higher cost of lives, civilian and/or military lives, and worse still accumulate more national debt or bankruptcy. Military history and its political governance is replete with foolish supreme leaders at the top, down to his commanders, and his consulting politicians (cabinet) most of whom are too afraid to speak up.

In the annals of military warfare since the beginning of recorded history there are multitudes of catastrophes by aggressors, belligerents, and their arrogant supreme commanders. Example after example after example of these tactical, strategic, economic, political blunders can either be observed, comprehended, and applied to warfare or foolishly ignored. Yet, beware, the final butcher’s bill from those monumental tragedies by clumsy, impulsive leadership often led those combatants, their loyal ranks, and back home their civilian population to suffer the losses and drive distrust, low morale, and often lead to ruin. Ignorance and hubris become a graveyard for the incompetent leaders, commanders, political proponents, and in some historical conflicts the fall of a once great nation or empire. Repeating history proves time and time again these cruel lessons to the demise of those foolish enough to ignore it.

For the sake of time this blog-post will concentrate on the modern era, specifically in the early part of World War II in Europe (1940 thru 1943) and how blunder after blunder, disaster after disaster plagued the two supreme leaders of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. While reading, I would like for all of you to find eerily similar (identical?) blunders that happened recently and are happening presently in the U.S. and the world. The similarities are remarkably telling.

Dunkirk and the Battle of Britain

After Hitler’s and Goering’s failed Operation Alderangriff (Eagle Attack) and Operation Sea Lion in 1940 against Great Britain, Adolf Hitler made his second major blunder of the Second World War just after his first one at Dunkirk, off the northern coast of France. There Hitler stopped his Army Group A of tanks and soldiers just a few miles outside of the French town of Dunkirk. This halt was an enormous mistake by Hitler because he allowed the British Expeditionary Force of nearly 340,000 Allied soldiers, who were completely surrounded by the German Wehrmacht pushed literally into the sea, to escape by sea to fight Hitler’s Third Reich another day. This blunder would soon come back to haunt him and inflict losses on his Western Front he could ill afford to recoup.

These two botched operations were the beginning of Hitler’s false idea of himself as a gifted supreme commander. Though Hitler was a veteran of World War I, achieving only the rank of Lance Corporal (Gefreiter), at minimum he had combat experience when he became German Chancellor and later Führer. Many “supreme commanders” around the world have no military or combat experience whatsoever. This puts them in a position of either listening to their expert military commanders, political staff and national GDP economists and heeding their opinions, or ignoring the hard facts and bumble through by trail and error—unfortunately at the cost of valuable, irreplaceable lives and material resources.

Despite Hitler having WW I combat experience, actual reality of wars and battlefields mattered little to Hitler and his self-deluded truth or to his lack of military prowess. Eventually it was a brutal lesson he was forced to accept, but accepted far too late to avoid the total destruction and defeat of his 1,000-year Reich. Making matters worse it came at the unfathomable expense of 7.8-million German soldiers and civilians dead by May 1945.

How did fuck-up after fuck-up chase Hitler after the victories over Poland, Denmark, Norway, Holland, Belgium, and France in April and May 1940, just over a mere two months? Why was the defeat by Great Britain in October 1940 the beginning of the end for Hitler?

Hitler versus Stalin – 1942 and 1943

Despite Hitler’s significant blunders and loss to Great Britain in October 1940, his ego and oversized self-esteem as the supreme leader of Nazi Germany he never waned in the following military operations from July 1942 through February 1943. The one operation that would seal the fate of Hitler and Nazi Germany’s hemorrhaging military machine, along with Germany’s resources and GDP to outlast Allied victory was a belief, a hope based on exaggerated reports of hyped propaganda, poor intelligence, actual smaller German production output, and scared subordinates to inform him unequivocally the real condition of his Reich. With each passing month his inner circle of generals, politicians, and economists grew increasingly distrustful (privately) of Hitler’s capabilities to lead. Those that were brave, candid with him were either fired and fired, then replaced by equally scared field marshals, generals, politicians, and economists. Those who showed backbone to him were often executed by firing squad or hung.

While still fighting an ever growing and draining war in Western Europe against the British and its Commonwealth countries, the giant producing United States, along with Free French, Belgian, Polish, Dutch, Danish, and Norwegian armies and pilots, as well as the French Resistance, and in Belgium, Holland, Poland, Denmark, and Norway Resistances inside their conquered occupied countries—all of which were immensely strong and very worthy enemies against Nazi Germany—Hitler makes one his most infamous, asinine, doomed decisions for himself and Germany’s entire Second World War campaign: Operation Barbarossa. In fact, most World War II military historians today assert Hitler’s choice to open a second front against the Soviets while still fighting on his Western Front, marked the real incompetence of Hitler and the start of the Third Reich’s collapse.

In June 1941 Hitler’s Axis forces consisted of 3.8-million men, armor, artillery, and planes to attack the Soviet Union that in contrast consisted of 5.5-million men, armor, artillery, and planes defending approximately 3.3-million square kilometers, or 1.3-million square miles from Leningrad to the north, to the outskirts of Moscow in central Russia, to Stalingrad and Krasnodar in the Soviet south. The German Eastern front stretched about 3,000 km (almost 1,900 miles) making supplies and replacements near impossible. The sheer size of the Eastern Front gave the Soviets a better 2-to-1 advantage for Joseph Stalin and the USSR. More over Stalin was seemingly replenishing his losses while Hitler could not. Factor in the Russian winters between December and March, sometimes lingering into April, Hitler drastically overestimated his Wehrmacht’s abilities, their mobility, a smaller German production rate compared to Stalin’s, then Hitler had created a recipe for failure.

Hitler grossly underestimated Soviet production, Soviet resilience, and arrogantly misjudged a realistic time-frame for total victory. On top of those blunders the Russian winters essentially made Stalin’s defense forces two to five times more lethal in comparison to Hitler’s colossal miscalculations. Over a century earlier Napoleon Bonaparte learned the exact same disastrous mistake. Apparently Hitler and his military top brass never learned from Napoleon and Russia’s arctic winters. Why not? Couple that with Nazi Germany’s appointed generals reporting false, exaggerated propaganda back to their temperamental Führer, made Operation Barbarossa doomed before it began. By the start of 1943 with the German Wehrmacht losing Russian land once conquered, Hitler was increasingly angry and only wanted to listen to German victories, not honest reports about the true condition of his failing Eastern campaign and many setbacks.

Meanwhile, though Stalin had absolutely no combat experience as a soldier or general in the field, by January 1942 after rescuing Moscow from the jaws of defeat, Stalin abandoned his earlier war strategy of reckless, aggressive, ruthless bloody attacks, counter-attacks with enormous Russian casualties—often ordering his army to attack without any weapons. Stalin learned quickly that listening to and following much better tactics from his experienced military commanders such as Zhukov and Timoshenko. With win after win Stalin placed greater trust in his expert military commanders rather than what his Nazi counter-part, Adolf Hitler was doing. With Hitler increasingly raged on his generals, firing them and firing them, or expecting them to literally commit suicide by fighting to the death when all was lost. Retreat or surrender was not tolerated by Hitler, ever. He only craved attacking, conquering, and then repeat it all again; no stopping, no retreating.

Consequently, the supreme Nazi leader, perhaps in distraught mania, unstable mental health, and drug addiction, and failing to capture Moscow, Hitler made his next colossal blunder: Battle of Kharkiv, then Operation Fredericus, then Operation Star, and finally Operation General Rumyantsev. If Operation Barbarossa wasn’t a gigantic, wasteful emptying of Nazi’s Third Reich armies and Panzer tank divisions, and urgently needed resupplying and refitting, then the above four operations for the southern regions of the USSR and the envied, rich oil fields, then the tangent campaigns southward Hitler planned would certainly spell the close end of Hitler’s Nazi Germany. And yet again, the German Führer craved more.

Operation Blue and the Battle of Stalingrad

In the summer of 1942 Hitler launched another reckless offensive campaign codenamed Operation Blue. By launching this campaign, despite being turned back outside of Moscow with heavy losses, due to the extremely outstretched Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe supply-lines longer than 1,200 km (or about 746 miles) from the Polish border to Moscow, Adolf Hitler gambled and risked far more than he could pay and replace. How much did Germany lose?

Operation Barbarossa cost the Nazi Wehrmacht and Panzer tank divisions men, whole divisions, mechanized armor/vehicles, munitions, and material for which German industry or military recruitment could never quickly replace, much less the valuable experience lost by so many dead soldiers and pilots. And yet, those horrific facts, those appalling losses, lower morale, didn’t seem to matter to Hitler. Instead, he would push forward with his next hair-brained campaigns: Fall Blau and the Battle for Stalingrad.

The conflict for Stalingrad and Voronezh, Rostov, Kuban, the Caucasus, and southern Russia (Operation Blue) would last for 6-months, 2-weeks, and 2-days along with losses of over 300,000 German soldiers, over 400,000 of the 4th Panzer Army, 900 aircraft destroyed, 1,500 tanks destroyed, 6,000 guns/artillery, and 744 aircraft 1,666 tanks, 1,652 guns captured/lost. To put this catastrophe in another perspective, those are losses Hitler and Nazi Germany could not recoup. Worst still it put German workers, conscripted workers, and the German war industry in an impossible predicament that would not be nor could be reversed despite Adolf Hitler’s continued delusional demands and visions of victory on his people and war-machine.

Furthermore, most all of Hitler’s great Field Marshalls and Generals knew by this point in 1942 and certainly by the end of 1943 that once the Western Allies of Great Britain and the United States along with their supporting cast of nations, would indeed open up a third front against a weakening Nazi Germany. The second front was opened in Sicily then Italy 1943 and moving north to Rome, southern France and Austria. The first front was Hitler’s colossal blunder of invading the Soviet Union in 1941 soon after he started the initial front in the West against France and Britain, who he was fighting for two years plus. These combined four fronts bled and drained Germany’s ability to wage war successfully. In fact, once he attacked Stalin and the USSR Hitler’s annihilation was certain. But right up until May of 1945, living deep underground in his Führerbunker a meager pathetic existence before he committed suicide with his mistress Eva Braun, Hitler believed fervently (psychotically?) the war could still be saved for Nazi Germany with Ghost Divisions and Battalions he was unaware did not exist. Adolf Hitler refused to accept his colossal foolishness as a civil or military leader right up to the second he pulled the trigger of his Walther PPK pistol. He was the ultimate symbol and definition of a Cult Mad Man that directed an estimated 18–20 million human deaths, civilian and military. A quick jump to the present…

How would such a U.S. budget compare to military spending by both partners and potential adversaries today?

How would this level of U.S. spending, if sustained, impact our federal debt? Rhetorical question; this present administration is spending and wasting enormous amounts of money, taxpayer dollars, interest charges, etc., as if it all just grows on trees blooming weekly or monthly. Insanity.

Endless Screw Ups and Ludicrous Obsessions

Not only was Adolf Hitler a horrible, mentally depraved military leader as we’ve learned so far, but he was also a monumental screw-up politically, socially, and economically for the German people from 1938–1946, pre-, during, and post-war posthumously. It would take Germany and its surviving people several more decades to fully recover and while continuing Second World War reparation payments—surprisingly something they are still doing today.

Instead of typing all of Hitler’s many, many enormous mistakes and colossal bad decisions after decision, I will just present below this side-by-side comparison of Hitler’s fuck-ups next to today’s U.S. president Donald J. Trump’s equally dumb fuck-ups.

Strange Controversial “Nation-Partners”

ADOLF HITLER

Italy – Benito Mussolini.
Mussolini headed many war crimes and crimes against humanity, primarily use of poison gas, brutal civilian massacres, and the persecution of Jews. Mussolini dragged Hitler into wasteful conflicts.

Japan – Emperor Hirohito and Prime Minister Hideki Tojo.
During World War II, the Empire of Japan committed massive war crimes, including the Nanjing Massacre, human experimentation by Unit 731, and the abuse of prisoners of war.

Several Minor Nations – Several of these countries and their leaders committed war and civilian atrocities such as illegal arrests, torture, and execution.

DONALD TRUMP

Israel – Benjamin Netanyahu.
Netanyahu has not yet been legally found guilty of war crimes, but the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant for him on November 21, 2024, accusing him of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Hungary – Viktor Orbán.
Orbán openly suppresses democratic norms & drafted a new constitution to his liking.

Russia – Vladimir Putin.
Putin has become a dictator over Russia the last 21-years rigging elections, imprisoning or killing political opponents, and illegally attacked or conquered neighboring countries.

Mohammed bin Salman – Saudi Crown Prince. Salman was close friends with Jeffrey Epstein and ordered the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Kim Jong Un – N. Korea.
Kim is well-known to purge government officials and order imprisonments or executions on any perceived threats to his total power.

Delusional Obsession with Self Monuments

HITLER

Nazi Party Rally Grounds (Nuremberg)
Built between 1933 and 1937, the site featured the massive Zeppelinfield grandstand, modeled after the ancient Pergamon Altar, designed to stage colossal propaganda spectacles.

New Reich Chancellery (Berlin)
Completed in 1939, this vast complex featured a 146-meter Marble Gallery and an immense office for Hitler designed to intimidate visiting diplomats.

Berlin Olympic Stadium (Berlin)
Built for the 1936 Olympic Games, it was used to project an image of Aryan national strength, racism, anti-Semitic international legitimacy.

Planned Monuments:

The Triumphal Arch (Berlin)
Designed to dwarf Paris’s Arc de Triomphe, standing nearly 120-meters high as a monument to German military dominance.

The Volkshalle (Berlin)
A monstrous, domed “People’s Hall” sketched by Hitler himself, intended to be the spiritual centerpiece of a rebuilt Berlin (Welthauptstadt Germania) that could hold 180,000 people.

The Führermuseum (Linz)
Planned for his hometown in Austria, this massive cultural center and museum was meant to house the looted art treasures of Europe.

TRUMP

East Wing Gold Ballroom
a 90,000-square-foot ballroom, with costs estimated between $400 million and $600 million, alongside planned underground bunker and drone port security integrations.

White House Interior Renovations
Gilded and re-decorated portions of the Oval Office, Palm Room, and Lincoln Bedroom.

Rose Garden and Colonnades
Paved over the historic grass lawn with a white stone patio (“Rose Garden Club”); replaced the West Wing colonnade’s Tennessee flagstone walkway with black granite.

A budgeted $40-million (likely higher) project planned for West Potomac Park featuring sculptures of 250 notable Americans and himself.

Unprecedented Resources & Spending for Military Marvels

HITLER

Nazi Germany spent an estimated $3–$4 billion (1940s U.S. Dollars), the equivalent of roughly $40–$50 billion today, on its Wunderwaffen programs, primarily the V-1 Flying Bomb and the V-2 Rocket.

Jet Aviation Marvels – The Me-262 and Arado Ar 234 aircraft cost enormous hundreds of millions in German Reichsmarks that included building massive underground factories like the Weingut I complex to shield production from day & night Allied bombing raids.

Super-Heavy Super-Big Tanks & Artillery – Millions more in Reichsmarks were spent on impractical engineering projects championed by Hitler, including the 188-ton Panzer VIII Maus tank and the Schwerer Gustav, a massive 80cm railway gun that required its own dedicated rail lines.

TRUMP

In Trump’s 2nd term U.S. taxpayers have spent a historic $1-trillion++ in late 2025 and Trump has requested another $1.5 trillion for fiscal year 2027. This increased spending targets major force modernization, naval expansion, and enhanced troop compensation. This spending has been for minor “enemy” nations such as Iran, Venezuela, and Iraq, not directly against major superpowers.

Drones, Missiles, Battleships, & Paychecks –
Drones – The proposed budget, which triples current spending on drones to more than $74 billion, would mark the largest investment in the technology “ever,” as those weapons reshape the modern battlefield.
Missiles – During the war in Iran, the U.S. has been firing off missiles at an “extraordinarily” fast pace, analysts say. To replenish those, the current budget requests a massive $53 billion for “critical munitions.” The single-largest line item, at nearly $18 billion, is the Golden Dome missile shield, a “system of systems” Manhattan Project-scale effort that combines ground-, sea-, and space-based interceptors.
Battleships – The proposed budget includes more than $65 billion for 18 more battleships and 16 other support ships as part of the “Golden Fleet” initiative. That’s a nearly 140% increase over the budget last year, when the Navy was allocated $27 billion to build 17 ships. The budget also includes some $427 million for unmanned naval vessels and testing of their weapons systems.
Troops – The budget includes a 7% pay raise for junior enlisted corps, and a 6% boost for mid-career military personnel. Some of the money, $57 billion, will go toward addressing ”failing” base facilities, including family housing, and fixing barracks that have long been deemed poor or failing. None of this includes repairs to the installations that have been struck in the Middle East during the U.S. war with Iran.

As Donald Trump has shown for many years, Adolf Hitler was also ruthless. Anything or anyone that gets in Trump’s way meant they/it were worth getting rid of or firing. However, as long as the selected, appointed high officials, the High Command is/was loyal to the death and obeyed everything the Supreme Leader directed, demanded or repeated verbally, they were in favorable graces and awarded lucrative benefits from Hitler/Trump. True democracy? No, far from it. Let me set the stage of these Hitler-Trump comparisons with a July 2026 speech to reporters by Tom Homan, White House Border czar and law-enforcement officer:

It is worth noting that Tom Homan was investigated for an accepted bribe of $50,000 cash in Sept. 2024 to secure government contracts during a potential second Trump administration. The case was dropped, closed in 2025 by President Trump citing insufficient evidence and the audio recordings of Homan accepting the bribe are now classified and sealed by the Trump administration.

Does the “Nazi Gestapo” shoe fit Mr. Homan, not just on your I.C.E. agents, but several other Trump-appointed agency directors and chiefs in his inner circles of loyalists?

An Appointed Inner Clique of Loyal Sycophants

HITLER

Hermann Göring – a German politician, aviator, military commander, and convicted war criminal. He was one of the most powerful figures in the Nazi Party. Göring and Himmler also worked together to set up early concentration camps for Jews and other Nazi opponents.

Joseph Goebbels – a German politician, the chief propagandist of the Nazi Party, and the Reich Minister of Propaganda from 1933 to 1945. He was one of Adolf Hitler’s closest and most devoted sycophants, known for his fierce antisemitism and strict control over German media, arts, and information.

Heinrich Himmler – commander of the German Schutzstaffel (Protective Squadron), abbreviated SS, he created and controlled Nazi concentration camps and was responsible for the murder of more than 12-million people who were considered enemies by the Nazis.

Martin Bormann – one of Hitler’s closest figures, he was known for his bureaucratic acumen he served as Chief of Staff to Rudolf Hess and later as Hitler’s official secretary, where he exerted significant influence over party matters and military appointments. Bormann played a key role in enforcing anti-Semitic policies, including the Nuremberg Laws and the bureaucratic processes that facilitated the Holocaust.

Albert Speer – Chief architect and later Minister of Armaments, managing wartime industrial production. As General Building Inspector for Berlin he was responsible for the Central Department for Resettlement that evicted Jewish tenants from their homes in Germany.

TRUMP

Pete Hegseth – Secretary of War Hegseth has faced accusations from lawmakers, military survivors, and media critics of misleading the public regarding the scope, progress, and impacts of the U.S. conflict with Iran. In three primary areas Hegseth has fudged the reality of casualties, U.S. base attacks, and distorted the progress & claims of the Iran War. Hitler’s war cabinet did the same thing.

Pam Bondi & Todd Blanche – both Bondi & Blanche have been legitimately accused by critics and lawmakers that former U.S. AG Pam Bondi & current AG Blanche made false statements and mislead the public regarding the handling of federal investigations, legal limits on judicial authority, and transparency surrounding high-profile records. Hitler often did not wish to know details or his cabinet often didn’t divulge them.

Kash Patel – FBI Director Kash Patel has faced intense scrutiny and congressional investigations regarding allegations of professional misconduct, excessive luxury travel on taxpayer funds, and inappropriate personal behavior. Hermann Göring did the exact same things.

Brendan Carr – Critics and legal groups accuse FCC Chairman Brendan Carr of legal and ethical impropriety, specifically highlighting political pressure on broadcasters, First Amendment violations, i.e. late night TV hosts, and alleged abuse of regulatory authority. Goebbels & Heinrich Müller (Chief of Gestapo) both directed near identical orders and arrests for Hitler.

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. – Secretary of Health & Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has faced public scrutiny and reports regarding historical allegations of sexual misconduct, non-disclosure agreements, and contested administrative decisions & health policies for public safety. Hitler’s personal doctor Theodor Morell & Karl Brandt along with Himmler all were tried & sentenced at the 1945-46 Nuremberg Trials for near identical conduct.

Kristi Noem & Markwayne Mullin – Kristi Noem faced key ethics inquiries and controversies involving family licensure intervention, travel habits, and federal department oversights including a state-level ethics board finding potential misconduct and federal scrutiny over agency actions.
Markwayne Mullin’s political career has involved several high-profile episodes of aggressive behavior, behavioral inappropriateness, and fiery committee confrontations.

Tom Homan – White House border czar Tom Homan faced public scrutiny regarding a closed FBI bribery investigation, tax omission concerns, and oversight of aggressive immigration enforcement actions. Heinrich Himmler and his subordinates committed these crimes as well as arrested, tortured and executed “Undesirables” for Hitler & the Nazi Third Reich.

The Biggest Military Blunders of Them All

HITLER

Operation Barbarossa – the unprovoked attack on Stalin’s Soviet Union. Hitler’s operation against the USSR in June 1941 through January 1945 cost the Third Reich 5.1-million German soldiers dead and 4.5-million captured. The costs…

Military Equipment – Hitler lost over 2,500 tanks and nearly 3,000 aircraft during the initial months of the campaign. Triple that amount for the following years in defending Germany against the Soviet push to Berlin in 1943-1945.
Supplies & Materials – Vast untold amounts of the German army’s fuel and ammunition stockpiles were depleted with no quick victory to replace them or liquid reichsmarks in the treasury to build and rebuild German industry due to Allied air raids and continued army advancements in the South & West.

Total Strategic Failure – This cannot be overstated, Hitler bit off more than Germany could chew when he attacked the Soviet Union while still fighting in the West against the great powers of Britain & its Commonwealth & the United States. Operation Epic Fury – the unprovoked attack on Iran. Though the cost in human life is lower than Hitler’s Eastern Front, in modern warfare today the costs are just as significant in many other categories, not just in human lives.

Uncounted Base and Assets Lost – Military experts and independent think tanks note that the official $37.5 billion figure is a significant undercount because it excludes long-term maintenance and regional repair costs. The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) estimates that repairing the more than 20 U.S. military installations damaged by retaliatory strikes will add between $5 billion and $9.4 billion to the final bill. At least 42 U.S. aircraft have been damaged or destroyed. High-tech naval assets like the USS Gerald R. Ford require extended, multi-million dollar overhauls. Beyond taxpayer-funded defense spending, the conflict has twice driven up oil prices past $100 a barrel following disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz. These disruptions have filtered directly to American households:
According to the Brown University Iran War Energy Cost Tracker, Americans have paid more than $68 billion to $74.7 billion in extra costs for gas and diesel. National averages spiked approximately 30% to 40% over pre-war rates, frequently pushing pump prices over $4/gallon.
Per-Household Impact: A comprehensive analysis by Moody’s Analytics indicates that when adding up defense spending, higher borrowing interest, elevated airfares, and basic groceries, the conflict has cost the average American household roughly $1,100.

The Broader Conflict:
The war in Iran has cost the United States 18 to 20 military service members killed and 624 personnel wounded. One U.S. civilian contractor has also been killed.
While U.S. casualties have remained relatively low compared to previous prolonged conflicts, the overall death toll across all factions is estimated between 8,975 and 18,309 total deaths. This includes thousands of Iranian military personnel and regional proxy fighters, alongside significant civilian casualties in Iran, including between 120 and 123 school children were killed in the February 28, 2026 U.S. missile strike on the Shajareh Tayyebeh Elementary School in Minab, Iran.
In nearby Lebanon more than 4,300 people have been killed as a result of the regional conflict and fighting with Hezbollah triggered by the U.S. and Israeli war with Iran, and more than 12,200 people wounded and maimed. And for what? Being an immediate imminent threat to the U.S. homeland?

As long as Iran feels they cannot trust anything said from Trump and his military hubris—a legitimate concern given his history of falsifying, flipping back-and-forth daily, and what his administration press releases contain and entail day to day as well as his “War Cabinet” states or not states led by Pete Hegseth—this conflict will continue indefinitely along with the soaring costs to average Americans.

What was all this waste for anyway? Was it because Iran was close to having nuclear weapons in 2026? No, that was disproven and debunked several months ago [citation]. And to add insult to injury for the U.S., now Iran will likely maintain control or significant influence via threats over the Strait of Hormuz, a consequence that Trump, his administration, and his “war cabinet” CLEARLY never considered or planned for. The lack of foresight and all that has followed from the reckless folly has been a colossal screw-up that even the idiot numbskull Adolf Hitler would envy. What a pity America that you have been shamed and repeatedly lied to by this current president and his administration. So now the question is upcoming this October-November during the primaries… Will you be gullible again or complacent again for a third or fourth time, and repeat history again?

Addendum 5:55pm CST (UTC/GMT -5 hrs) —

I forgot to include American deaths caused by the 2019–2023 COVID-19, and remarkably still continuing in 2026, in my post here. Why? Because COVID-19 was a biological war or should have been declared as a serious biological war and enemy by the then sitting U.S. President Donald J. Trump. Astonishingly, absurdly, and callously Trump did nothing to prepare in 2019, then did very, very little from 2020 to January 20, 2021, (when Biden replaced him) to protect Americans from the invisible viral pandemic. Why? The lethargy showed by Trump and his administration to confront and combat COVID-19 with everything possible in order to save American lives was near identical to Adolf Hitler’s deep denial and complacency after the devastating loss of the German 6th Army at Stalingrad, USSR in February 1943 and thereafter. Just like Trump, Hitler turned into a recluse as if nothing had really happened. Of course, that was the furthest thing from the truth and the worst reaction to take.

HITLER’S INACTION CONSEQUENCES

An estimated 150,000–200,000 German soldiers died during the Battle of Stalingrad itself, and an additional 35,000 to 40,000 of the roughly 91,000 captured German troops died soon after in Soviet prisoner-of-war camps.
Approximately 2.5 to 3-million German soldiers died on the Eastern Front after the Battle of Stalingrad ended in February 1943 due primarily to the flawed micro-managing supremacy of Hitler’s incompetence and lethargy to reverse the front or quickly rescue those prisoners.

TRUMP’S INACTION CONSEQUENCES

Well over 1.1-million Americans did and have died from COVID-19, according to tracking data from federal health agencies and institutions like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other independent organizations. In the Peak Years: The highest annual death tolls occurred in 2020 and 2021 before widespread vaccine and treatment adoption were finally pushed, developed, and distributed by the Biden Administration.

Those death statistics are more than all Americans who lost their lives in all of America’s wars combined in the country’s entire existence! 😲

Iran & Nuclear Weapons?

Americans have heard a lot recently about how “Iran was 2-3 months away from getting a nuclear bomb/weapon.” And despite the POTUS and his top cabinet members, along with his Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, and DoD Pete Hegseth, the American people/taxpayers have been repeatedly told lies by tRump, Leavitt, and Hegseth that Iran was about to gain a nuclear bomb(s) to attack the United States. They credit Benjamin Netanyahu and the IDF (Israeli Defense Force) for the “intelligence” (we now know was bait) for justifying an all out war against Iran in March 2026 on their military and possibly Iran’s infrastructure. After being wrongfully attacked by the U.S. and Israeli militaries, based on intentionally bad, inaccurate intelligence from Israel, our POTUS and his administration have spun the war on the American people in all kinds of false misdirection and narratives.

What is more poignant, profound, and telling about this baseless costly tRump war with Iran was that the issue/problem of Iranian nuclear weapons against the West was factually dealt with already and was being successfully managed back in 2015-2016 with President Barack Obama along with our European allies, as well as with China and Russia, in a landmark treaty called the JCPOA championed by President Obama. In other words, everything that our current POTUS, Press Secretary Leavitt, and DoD Hegseth keep repeating ad nauseum about Iran’s perceived nuclear capability… is bogus hogwash, flatly wrong within the verified historical context ignored by today’s presidential administration. The Iran nuclear threat to Israel and the U.S. and its European allies was already resolved and working eleven years ago. Period. No debate.

But sadly and very costly to the U.S., our POTUS and his administration completely “obliterated” that deal, the JCPOA, to use one of tRump’s favorite words: obliterated. Iran was complying with the deal, until our current POTUS effed it all up and caused the drastic ripple-effects of self-arrogance and military bullying for all the world to suffer through. Now we are much worse off, no thanks to tRump’s gullibility and his cult-members of MAGA and all their hardline supporters in America.

Here is how well the Iran Nuclear Deal was working. Iran had:

Shipped 25,000 pounds of enriched uranium out of the country
Dismantled and removed two-thirds of its centrifuges
Removed the calandria from its heavy water reactor and filled it with concrete
Provided unprecedented access to its nuclear facilities and supply chain

Because Iran had completed these steps in 2016, the U.S. and international community could have begun the next phase under the JCPOA, which meant the U.S. would begin lifting its nuclear-related sanctions on Iran. However, a number of U.S. sanctions authorities and designations would have continued to remain in place. And along with the above successful deal-points, these six sanctions were to remain in place under Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran:

Sanctions on missile technologies and conventional weapons
Terror-List Sanctions that identify Iran as a state sponsor of terro
Targeted sanctions on anyone connected with Iran’s support of terror
Authority to target Iran’s development of ballistic missiles
Authority to target Iran’s human rights abuses and censorship
Authority to sanction Iran’s destabilizing regional activities, including in Syria and Yemen

*It could be argued that tRump and his Administration intended, planned all along to create a “without a deal” Iranian condition just to start an unnecessary war*

Therefore Americans, remember that back in 2015-2016 everything that tRump and his administration are spewing out of their lying mouths had already been successfully achieved against Iran to secure our safety and of foreign interests. There was no need whatsoever for the current childish POTUS to trash this historic nuclear deal by Obama with Iran, which was achieved and succeeding. Everything that the tRump administration has now royally fucked up was already resolved and working!

This begs the question, was tRump’s trashing and killing of the JCPOA deal of 2015 merely a personal vendetta against Barack Obama? Of course it was. And now look what the baby toddler tRump has caused on ordinary Americans and he has no off-ramp to end it without losing face and consequently making everything much, much worse for the entire globe. So he and his MAGA loyalists continue to lie, redirect, and scramble like Keystone Cops for any approval ratings with the primaries looming in Oct/Nov 2026.

What a royal fuck-up this president has been… in both of his presidential terms! There is no other way to paint this presidential political tragedy and catastrophe created by DJT and his hardline MAGA cult-members.

There was NEVER a real threat from Iran to gain a nuclear weapon any time soon. Fact. But now it is a lot more real BECAUSE OF our current POTUS and his sycophant cult-members. Fact.

A History of Propaganda, Psychology & Tyranny

One could also elaborate further with a #5 under paranoia the regular, unfounded perception of oneself always being the victim of say, witch hunts, or sociopolitical attacks.

What is the historical definition of tyranny? According to the Cambridge.org dictionary the term means:

government by a ruler or small group of people who have unlimited power over the people in their country or state [or police state] and use it unfairly and cruelly.

a situation in which someone or something controls how you are able to live, in an unfair way.

There are many other manifested, associated behaviors which are typically present in a person who suffers from these four mental-illnesses, whether the person is aware of them or not in their behavior and thinking or admits them to others.

Of the most notorious eight tyrants of modern history in the header at top and then labelled here, I want to focus on Adolf Hitler, third from the left. Between January of 1919 and April 1945, Adolf Hitler and his inner-circle of Heinrich Himmler, Hermann Goering, Joseph Goebbels (Propaganda Minister), Martin Bormann, Albert Speer, and Joachim von Ribbentrop, then all of their subordinates, were all responsible for the murders, killings, genocide and/or imprisonments leading to death of over 12,243,500 men, women, and children in a span of just 12-years.[1] In other words, 1,020,292 people per year, or approximately 85,025 men, women, and children per month. The scale of this industrialized killing and combat fatalities by the Nazis may never again be topped unless it is a nuclear war of three to four enemy nations.

What was the hypnotical draw of Hitler to the German-Austrian masses in July 1919 through October 1929? What was his personality at the time? Who was around him? What were the living conditions in Germany after World War I? Let’s take a closer look.

Adolf Hitler’s Personality 1919–1929

Throughout all of recorded human history even into the 21^st-century, most people want to be ruled, told what to do, what to think. They do not want total freedom. Total freedom often scares the shit out of ordinary people. They would feel even less control of their life and would rather not be held accountable for their mistakes or bad decisions. Psychologically, even that fear mentality of horribly screwing up enslaves them to live a self-perceived yet false reality of not having enormous responsibilities and suffering the consequences if they stay in the shadows; otherwise being disliked or hated by hundreds or thousands of people. Therefore, the majority of ordinary people with fragile self-confidence seek out ways, or to be on the lookout for a leader, an extraordinary spokesperson and doer they can follow and they do the hard work for them, a fall-person, e.g. Cult Leader, supreme King, or Messiah to name just three.

Adolf Hitler quickly gained immense popularity among the German National Socialistic Workers’ Party members and the general populous by February 1921 because of his gifted talent for crowd manipulation and fervor. How did he do it?

Animated and anger-ridden speech posed by the leader of the National Socialist Workers’ Party, Adolf Hitler. Hitler made an everlasting name for himself with this speech before the Reich Court in Leipzig.

He enthralled his audiences because his speeches, whether to a small audience or a very large audience was full of hate, of blaming others for the misery and hardships of the German workers in which he overly pandered to, to the poor and struggling German’s internally angry for their horrible living conditions. Hitler gave them permission to be angry, outspoken, and violent, if they chose to be, toward perceived threats, but not actual proven threats. But no matter, outrage sells. Period. Sadly, it is one of the easiest human traits to whip up and unleash.

Hitler understood the nature and underlying fury the German people were experiencing. He understood at least two causes of this anger: 1) the Treaty of Versailles, 1919, and 2) the Stock Market Crash and Great Depression of 1929 and hinted about in 1919. Hitler truly believed that he alone was Austro-Germany’s liberator, savior, and only solution. This was his ‘divine calling/mission.’ Thus, what does a Cult Leader do for his lost people?

One quick method to fan the resentment and fury of ordinary, struggling, unemployed workers and to gather them together, rally “followers” for the cause was to go on the attack. Hitler targeted intellectuals of the universities. He targeted deplorables, e.g. gays, lesbians, and ‘loose women.’ He specifically attacked philosophical progressives (that often stabilize a country and their citizens) and he especially targeted immigrants. Years and years as a underachieving student in school, a floundering mediocre artist, unemployed man with little to no money, unrecognized and overlooked by any World War I distinctions other than the Iron Cross, First Class for his combat service—but never ranked higher than a private which in military strategy would one day come back to bite and haunt him—had all built up in immense frustration. It would soon inflame the selling of public outrage and hyper-animated speeches. His fury hypnotized the Nazi party and German people.

Who Surrounded Hitler in 1919–1929

Let’s examine the most important political colleagues Hitler assembled around him.

Franz Xaver Schwarz — when the Nazi Party was banned from existence by the German government in 1923, Schwarz became a member of the Greater German People’s Community as their treasurer. This “community” was merely a fake front for the Nazi Party based in Munich. By February 1925 Schwartz completely restructured and reformed the Nazi Party’s finances and administration. In March 1925 he was also the significant (or only?) money-bags for Hitler’s new book, Mein Kampf, which laid out Hitler’s ideology for territorial expansion as well as transforming German society into a dictatorship based on the Aryan race.

For Hitler the only solutions for reforming and transforming Germany back to a world power (MAGA = Make All Germany Awesome) was 1) exterminate Jews and undesirables, and 2) imprison his dissidents, or those who don’t agree with him and speak out against him. Sound familiar today?

When Hitler was released from prison in December 1924, he immediately went to work on his “divine mission/calling.” Ever since his narrow escape from a French or British artillery shell that killed all of his regiment in the trenches of the Battle of the Somme, 1916, and wounded by shrapnel, then later the British mustard gas attack at Ypres, Belgium, 1918, where he was severely blinded and barely escaping death, Hitler fully believed he was divinely picked to lead Germany and conquer the world. Does escaping death or assassins sound familiar today? 🤔 During this 1925–1929 period of political rise to power Adolf Hitler endeared several key, future Nazi Party leaders. Below are some of them.

Rudolf Hess — when Hess witnessed Hitler speak in 1920 at a Munich Nazi rally, Hess became deeply zealous on every word Hitler spoke to him. In fact, Hess and Hitler saw eye-to-eye on the belief that Germany lost WW1 because of Jewish conspirators and Bolsheviks in eastern Europe, not total military defeat as was the fact.

Dietrich Eckart — was a staunch Völkisch poet, journalist, and political activist for the German’s Worker Party, the predecessor of the Nazi Party. Eckart was a major influence on Hitler’s rise to power. He died after being released from prison in Lansberg where Hitler and other Nazis were jailed after the failed Beer Hall Putsch, 1923, the failed coup d’état by Hitler’s Browns. It’s worthy to note too that Hermann Goering was also part of that insurrection.

Otto Strasser — as an early member of the Nazi Party he and his brother were part of the party’s more extremist wing of the Nazis. Focusing primarily on the party’s socialist elements, Strasser and his brother joined forces with Joseph Goebbels to govern the northern sector of Nazi Germany. Until 1930 Otto Strasser was a key component of Hitler’s early rise to power in Germany.

Joseph Goebbels — is arguably one of Hitler’s closest political colleagues very gifted in oppressive, deceiving propaganda and completely controlling Germany’s narrative of world domination then World War II through all 20^th-century communication methods. Essentially Goebbels completely outlawed any communication entities in 1930’s Germany other than the Nazi State’s propaganda ministry. Sound familiar today with attacks and defunding of National Public Radio, the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), and many other media companies critical of the current administration in Washington D.C.?

Who today can you think of and remember that surrounded our 45^th and now 47^th U.S. President that is in prison, or convicted in court (less than 34-times 🙄), or continues to avoid arrest for illicit, explicit, or criminal behavior? I can think of at least ten men.

Germany in 1919–1929 the Post-War Years

These ten years in Germany were not just horrendous times for ordinary Austro-German people, but the perfect crisis/storm for a liberator, a quick-fix Snake Oil salesman and a Savior/Messiah of Germany to make the nation great again, i.e. Make Austro-Germany Astounding… again (a 1930’s–1940’s MAGA party).

What were the key factors in Hitler’s divine arrogance, unmatched political drive, extreme self-belief, and rise to ultimate power?

Escaping Death — not just once, but multiple times. Hitler narrowly escaped death in World War I at the Battle of the Somme. He survived, barely, a mustard gas attack near Ypres, Belgium in October 1918. And later during World War II he survived multiple assassination attempts, the most notable was Claus von Stauffenberg bomb attack at the Wolf’s Lair at Rastenburg, Poland, in 1944, otherwise known as Operation Valkyrie. Sound very similar to a present-day leader who survived Butler, PA, at a rally, and again on a golf course in West Palm Beach, FL? Hmmm. Some egomaniacs often believe that if they “miraculously” escape death multiple times they are destined for historical, epic stories lasting the test of time like a Savior/Messiah bloodied-up raising their fist in defiance. It makes a huge TV spotlight series, doesn’t it? Even better than the fame of The Apprentice. 🙄🤦
Enlisting Radical Loyal Followers — Hitler and his Nazis campaigned enormously for years on empty promises and false hopes in order to fill/pad their ranks. If the followers are gullible and want quick, fast results from their leader/savior, they will swallow their “membership” hook-line-and-sinker asking no questions, but total devotion to the cult and cause. Again, sound familiar today?
Ceasing Total Control of the Press and Speech — with the enlisted help of Joseph Goebbels’ propaganda mechanisms in place, he and Hitler had complete control of exactly what the German people would learn, watch, and hear, i.e. tricked and brainwashed. Even when Nazi Germany was losing battles and the war, Goebbels was still deceiving the people with false victories and promising Nazi Wonder Weapons and technology that was about to win the war for the Third Reich. Of course, these were all bold face lies and were never delivered as promised.
Creating a National Police State — once Hitler was unequivocally made the sole supreme leader and dictator of Germany, he and Heinrich Himmler immediately created the two forces of the Schutzstaffel (or SS) and the Geheime Staatspolizei or Gestapo with Hermann Goering, Rudolf Diels, Heinrich Himmler, and Heinrich Müller. These two police forces were charged with accusing, arresting, removing dissidents or opponents of the Third Reich and Hitler, then imprisoning them without trial. They did it with haste and brutality particularly against unwanted immigrants and Jews. Sound familiar today? If not, then simply research the current track-record of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or I.C.E.
National Expansion via Annexing or Force — Hitler and his inner-circle began planning for the expansion of the Third Reich throughout all of Europe then the world. With the exception of Great Britain and the Soviet Union, Hitler accomplished this goal of European domination and expansion. Sound familiar today? Question. Who today has publicly stated the U.S. will reclaim the Panama Canal, seize control of Greenland and the Gaza Strip. Also Canada, Mexico even renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, and seize Venezuela. Sound familiar today? It should.
Targeting Perceived Deplorables — Hitler and his Third Reich police state specifically targeted lesbians, bisexuals, gays, trans-different, and queers (LGBTQ+) throughout Germany and Europe, imprisoning and/or killing them as contaminating the Aryan race. Sound familiar today? It should because in two terms as President this was not only what was campaigned, but is now happening… again in the U.S.A.

These six “mandates” above—that MAGA Republicans keep falling back on from their supreme cult leader—are just a few of his power-seizing acts that catapulted a liberating savior king to ultimate power, especially when his base/party and radical followers control every aspect of federal governing right now. Coincidence? Or is it intentional totalitarian authority exactly in the footsteps of Adolf Hitler and the Third Reich? Think about it. Try to deny it. You can’t. History can never be rewritten, only ignored, hidden, or white-washed. But the facts never change.

A Conclusion About Past-Present Tyrants

In the recent past and today, who utilizes the exact same Hitler-tactics here in the U.S.? Who used it earlier in 2015-2016 then to a fever pitch on January 6th, 2021 at the Capitol Building? Like the Supreme Reich’s Chancellor, Hitler, could have halted everything, but did not stop the violence in 1930’s Germany. Hitler also sat idlily by watching the reports from his staff in the 1930’s. On January 6th, 2021, so did the U.S. President sit idlily by not doing a damn thing about the violence, destruction of the U.S. Capitol and the killing of Capitol Police Officers. Then several hours later the President wanted to JOIN the violent insurrectionists mob at the Capitol, but the Secret Service refused to take him there!

Any of this sound familiar? It should. If you know your history—not just modern history of WW2, but also Classical history and Ancient history—then you know full well this is us Americans, and our current President, repeating history practically to the tee. And one of Hitler’s greatest talents was deflecting and distracting his base supporters to real events of his regime. Hitler’s followers had (apparently) no clue about the many concentration camps just outside of their town/village. Today who does the exact same thing in the U.S. and Washington D.C.? You know who it is, there is no denying it.

Did you put him back into the White House in November 2024? If so, shame shame SHAME on you! 🤦‍♂️😠 You’ve killed democracy and the spirit of liberties and the rule of law! The American voters are in need of a SERIOUS education in critical-thinking skills and verifiable history that is currently being mimicked here in the United States by our present administration. Wake up people!

Learn from History – Do Not Repeat It – Otherwise Wallow in Misery – Wallow in Death

Where Was the Protection?

Before I begin, I want to reiterate how profound the events of Jan. 6th, 2021 at the Capitol building portray the United States to the rest of the world, i.e. what a “Constitutional Republic/Democracy” looks like today. Those disturbing events at/inside the Capitol also show after one week how grossly insufficient our legal response to those terrorist attackers has been.

The necessary precedent is NOT being cemented and as a consequence tells our enemies and doubters, both foreign and domestic, that violent insurrection (ala Venezuela, Haiti, Honduras, or El Salvador) is apparently okay when it occurs again in the future at any of our national landmarks of Constitutional democracy, to be assaulted and defaced. It also tells current or future American enemies that if you do not like our way of life, liberty, freedom, governing, and free democratic elections of a Republic’s officials and supporting institutions by its citizens, then one can merely and violently break into any of our sacred buildings and wreak total havoc and murder its defendants! It’s all now an approved method of “American” protest/insurrection identical to Venezuela, Haiti, Honduras, or El Salvador. Yes, those are the dark, repugnant depths we (Conservative) Americans have reached. From here forward, brutality against our legal democratic process is condoned for posterity by our Republican officials and Senate majority; or as our POTUS put it, to “show [brute] strength.”

That is the political landscape in which America has put herself over the past four years, arguably more. As you read further, remember one important fact: one man, one office could have immediately stopped the Jan. 6 terrorist attack by making one phone call… instead of watching the horrific events on TV inside the White House and calling panicked Senators inside the Congress to break their vows to the Constitution.

On Jan. 6th, where was the on-call reinforcements of law-enforcement, or SWAT, or National Guard for the Capitol building and its Congressmen and women? That is one of the critical investigative questions of that Wednesday’s reprehensible events. For all law-abiding Americans the answers are near impossible to stomach. Let’s examine the timeline of that Wednesday as reported by Steven Harper of BillMoyers.com.

It is critically important by Harper to first note that in his report: “The Department of Defense’s January 8, 2021 initial press release purports to “memorialize the planning and execution timeline” of the deadly insurrection that it calls the “January 6, 2021 First Amendment Protests in Washington, DC.” He goes on to say:

[Late in the afternoon of January 11, 2021, the Defense Department changed the title of its January 8 memorandum and reissued it “to more appropriately reflect the characterization of the events at the U.S. Capitol on January 6.” The retitled summary is the “January 6, 2021 Violent Attack at the U.S. Capitol.“]
The memo’s minute-by-minute account creates a false illusion of transparency. In truth, its most noteworthy aspects are the omission of Trump’s central role in the insurrection and the effort to shift blame away from Trump and his new Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller.
Who is Christopher Miller?
By November 9, every news organization declared that former Vice-President Joe Biden had won the election. On that day, Trump fired Acting Secretary of Defense Mark Esper and replaced him with Miller, an Army retiree who worked for a defense contractor until Trump tapped him as his assistant in 2018. Miller’s promotion began a departmental regime change that embedded three fierce Trump loyalists as top Defense Department officials: Kash Patel (former aid to Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA)), retired Army Gen. Anthony Tata (pro-Trump FOX News pundit), and Ezra Cohen-Watnick (former assistant to Trump’s first national security advisor, Mike Flynn.)
At such a late date in Trump’s presidency, many asked, why the shake-up at the Department of Defense? We may be learning the answer.

The Contextual Backdrop

Dec. 19, 2020: Trump tweets: “Big protest in D.C. on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!”
Jan. 3, 2021: Replying to a tweet from one of the rally organizers, Trump tweets: “I will be there. Historic day.”
Jan. 4: The National Park Service increases the crowd estimate on the January 6 rally permit to 30,000 – up from the original 5,000 in December.
*Jan. 5: Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) receives a call from White House Political Director Brian Jack asking him to speak at the “Stop the Steal” rally on January 6. Brooks agrees.

Now for the day of Jan. 6, 2021

8:17 a.m.: Trump tweets: “States want to correct their votes, which they now know were based on irregularities and fraud, plus corrupt process never received legislative approval. All Mike Pence has to do is send them back to the States, AND WE WIN. Do it Mike, this is a time for extreme courage!”
Noon: Trump begins to address the mob and continues speaking for more than 90 minutes.
- “We will never give up. We will never concede. It doesn’t happen. You don’t concede when there’s theft involved.”
- “We won this election, and we won it by a landslide. This was not a close election.”
- “I hope Mike is going to do the right thing. I hope so. I hope so, because if Mike Pence does the right thing, we win the election. All Vice President Pence has to do is send it back to the states to recertify, and we become president, and you are the happiest people.”
1:00 p.m.: While Trump continues his rant to the mob, some members of Trump’s crowd have already reached the US Capitol building where Congress assembles in joint session to certify President-elect Joe Biden’s victory. An initial wave of protesters storms the outer barricade west of the Capitol building. As the congressional proceedings begin, Pence reads a letter saying that he won’t intervene in Congress’s electoral count: “My oath to support and defend the Constitution constrains me from claiming unilateral authority.”
1:10 p.m.: Trump ends his speech by urging his followers to march down Pennsylvania Avenue. “We’re going to the Capitol. We’re going to try and give them [Republicans] the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country… If you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.”

The Attack Begins

If the District of Columbia were a state, its governor alone could have deployed the National Guard to crush the riot. Instead, Trump and his Defense Department had that responsibility, and an unprecedented assault on a sacred institution of government succeeded, if only for a few hours.

(DoD Memo) 1:26 p.m.: The Capitol Police orders the evacuation of the Capitol complex.
1:30 p.m.: The crowd outside the building grows larger, eventually overtaking the Capitol Police and making its way up the Capitol steps. Suspicious packages – later confirmed to be pipe bombs – are found at Republican National Committee headquarters and Democratic National Committee headquarters in Washington.
(DoD Memo) 1:34 p.m.: DC Mayor Muriel Bowser asks Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy – who reports to Miller – for more federal help to deal with the mob.
*Also at 1:49 p.m.: Trump retweets a video of the rally, which includes his previous statements that: “our country has had enough. We will not take it anymore and that’s what this is all about. To use a favorite term that all of you came up with, we will stop the steal. . . You’ll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength, and you have to be strong.”
*Shortly after 2:00 p.m.: While the senators are in a temporary holding room after the Senate chamber is evacuated, Trump tries to call Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), but mistakenly reaches Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), who hands the phone to Tuberville. Trump then tries to convince Tuberville to make additional objections to the Electoral College vote in an effort to block Congress’ certification of Biden’s win. The call is cut off because senators are asked to move to a secure location.
2:15 p.m.: Trump’s mob breaches the Capitol building – breaking windows, climbing inside, and opening doors for others to follow.
(DoD Memo) 2:22 p.m.: Army Secretary McCarthy discusses the situation at the Capitol with Mayor Bowser and her staff.
They are begging for additional National Guard assistance. Note the time. It’s been almost an hour since Bowser requested help.
2:24 p.m.: Trump tweets: “Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!”

After erecting a gallows on the Capitol grounds, the mob shouts, “Hang Mike Pence.” Rioters create another noose from a camera cord seized during an attack on an on-site news team. Remember, one man, one office could have immediately stopped the Jan. 6 terrorist attack by making one phone call.

2:26 p.m.: Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund joins a conference call with several officials from the DC government, as well as officials from the Pentagon, including Lt. Gen. Walter E. Piatt, director of the Army Staff. Piatt later issues a statement denying the statements attributed to him.

“I am making an urgent, urgent immediate request for National Guard assistance,” Sund says. “I have got to get boots on the ground.”

The DC contingent is flabbergasted when Piatt says that he could not recommend that his boss, Army Secretary McCarthy, approve the request. “I don’t like the visual of the National Guard standing a police line with the Capitol in the background,” Piatt says. Again and again, Sund says that the situation is dire.

(Memo) 2:30 p.m.: Miller, Army Secretary McCarthy, and the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff meet to discuss Mayor Bowser’s request.
(Memo) 3:04 p.m.: Miller gives “verbal approval” to full mobilization of the DC National Guard (1,100 members).

It has now been more than 90 minutes since Mayor Bowser first asked Army Secretary McCarthy for assistance. It took an hour for Defense Department officials to meet and another half-hour for them to decide to help. And Bowser still doesn’t know the status of her request.

(Memo) 3:19 p.m.: Pelosi and Schumer call Army Secretary McCarthy, who says that Bowser’s request has now been approved.
(Memo) 3:26 p.m.: Army Secretary McCarthy calls Bowser to tell her that her request for help has been approved.

The Defense Department’s notification of approval to Bowser came two hours after her request.

While Miller and his team were slow-walking Mayor Bowser’s request, she had sought National Guard assistance from Virginia Governor Ralph Northam (D) and Maryland Governor Larry Hogan (R). At about the same time, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) called Northam directly for help and he agreed.

3:29 p.m.: Gov. Northam announces mobilization of Virginia’s National Guard. But there’s a hitch. Federal law requires Defense Department authorization before any state’s National Guard can cross the state border onto federal land in DC. That approval doesn’t come until almost two hours later.
(Memo) 3:47 p.m. Governor Hogan mobilizes his state’s National Guard and 200 state troopers.

The Defense Department “repeatedly denies” Hogan’s request to deploy the National Guard at the Capitol. As he awaits approval, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) calls Hogan from the undisclosed bunker to which he, Speaker Pelosi, and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) have been evacuated. Hoyer pleads for assistance, saying that the Capitol Police is overwhelmed and there is no federal law enforcement presence.

4:17 p.m.: Trump tweets a video telling rioters, “I know your pain, I know you’re hurt. We had an election that was stolen from us. It was a landslide election and everyone knows it, especially the other side… It’s a very tough period of time. There’s never been a time like this where such a thing happened where they could take it away from all of us — from me, from you, from our country. This was a fraudulent election, but we can’t play into the hands of these people. We have to have peace. So go home. We love you. You’re very special. You’ve seen what happens. You see the way others are treated that are so bad and so evil.”
(Memo) 4:18 p.m.: Miller gives voice approval to notifying surrounding states to muster and be prepared to mobilize their National Guard personnel.
(Memo) 4:32 p.m.: Miller gives verbal authorization to “re-mission” DC National Guard from city posts where most have been directing traffic and monitoring subway stations “to conduct perimeter and clearance operations” in support of the Capitol Police force.
4:40 p.m.: More than 90 minutes after Governor Hogan had requested federal approval to send his state’s National Guard troops to DC, Army Secretary McCarthy calls and asks, “Can you come as soon as possible?” Hogan responds, “Yeah. We’ve been waiting. We’re ready.”
5:40 p.m.: The first DC National Guard personnel arrive at the Capitol.
(Memo) 5:45 p.m.: Miller signs formal authorization for out-of-state National Guard personnel to muster and gives voice approval for deployment to support the Capitol Police.

The first Maryland National Guard personnel don’t arrive at the Capitol until January 7 at 10:00 a.m. The first Virginia National Guard members arrive at Noon.

6:01 p.m.: Trump tweets: “These are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously & viciously stripped away from great patriots who have been badly & unfairly treated for so long. Go home with love & in peace. Remember this day forever!”
*7:00 p.m.: Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, intends to call Sen. Tuberville but, like Trump five hours earlier, he reaches Sen. Lee. Unaware that he has reached the wrong number, Giuliani leaves a voicemail message saying, “Sen. Tuberville? Or I should say Coach Tuberville. This is Rudy Giuliani, the President’s lawyer. I’m calling you because I want to discuss with you how they’re trying to rush this hearing and how we need you, our Republican friends, to try to just slow it down so we can get these legislatures to get more information to you. I know they’re reconvening at 8 tonight, but it … the only strategy we can follow is to object to numerous states and raise issues so that we get ourselves into tomorrow — ideally until the end of tomorrow.”

When Congress resumes the session at 8:06 p.m., Tuberville votes in favor of objections to certifying Biden’s election.

(Memo) 8:00 p.m.: The DC Capitol Police declare the Capitol building secure.

The Aftermath of the Attack

Remember, one man, one office could have immediately stopped the Jan. 6 terrorist attack by making one phone call. The President never considered at any time that afternoon to make that call to stop the violence at the Capitol, only to keep pushing Sen. Tuberville and Rudy Giuliani to bulldoze his personal egotistical agenda. Read this paragraph again!

8:31 p.m.: After widespread media reports that Pence, not Trump, had actually given the order to deploy the National Guard, Kash Patel—Miller’s chief of staff and former top aide to Rep. Nunes—tells the New York Times, “The acting secretary and the president have spoken multiple times this week about the request for National Guard personnel in D.C. During these conversations, the president conveyed to the acting secretary that he should take any necessary steps to support civilian law enforcement requests in securing the Capitol and federal buildings.” But according to the Defense Department’s January 8 memo, the only such conversation with Trump occurred on January 3.

Jan. 7: Trump releases a video in which he lies, saying, “I immediately deployed the National Guard and federal law enforcement to secure the building and expel the intruders.” Defense Department officials confirm that they did not speak to Trump on January 6.
Jan. 8: Trump tweets: “The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!”
Shortly thereafter, he tweets again: “To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th.”
Jan. 9: Twitter issues a statement saying that it has banned Trump because his “statement that he will not be attending the Inauguration is being received by a number of his supporters as further confirmation that the election was not legitimate… and encouragement to those potentially considering violent acts that the Inauguration would be a ‘safe’ target, as he will not be attending.”

Twitter’s statement continues, “The use of the words ‘American Patriots’ to describe some of his supporters is also being interpreted as support for those committing violent acts at the US Capitol. The mention of his supporters having a ‘GIANT VOICE long into the future’ and that ‘They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!’ is being interpreted as further indication that President Trump does not plan to facilitate an ‘orderly transition’ and instead that he plans to continue to support, empower, and shield those who believe he won the election.”

The statement concludes: “Plans for future armed protests have already begun proliferating on and off-Twitter, including a proposed secondary attack on the US Capitol and state capitol buildings on January 17, 2021.”

*Jan. 12: Preparing to board Marine One for Andrews Air Force Base en route to a speech in Alamo, Texas, Trump says, “And on the impeachment, it’s really a continuation of the greatest witch hunt in the history of politics. It’s ridiculous. It’s absolutely ridiculous. This impeachment is causing tremendous anger, and you’re doing it, and it’s really a terrible thing that they’re doing. For Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer to continue on this path, I think it’s causing tremendous danger to our country and it’s causing tremendous anger.”
*Also on Jan. 12: As he prepares to board Air Force One, Trump says, “So if you read my speech — and many people have done it, and I’ve seen it both in the papers and in the media, on television — it’s been analyzed, and people thought that what I said was totally appropriate. And if you look at what other people have said — politicians at a high level — about the riots during the summer, the horrible riots in Portland and Seattle, in various other — other places, that was a real problem — what they said. But they’ve analyzed my speech and words and my final paragraph, my final sentence, and everybody, to the T, thought it was totally appropriate.”
*Also on Jan. 12: Speaking to his Texas audience, Trump says, “Before we begin, I’d like to say that free speech is under assault like never before. [But the legal reality is actually that privately owned social-media corporations like Twitter have every right to censor and/or ban whomever they deem inappropriate, criminal, or as criminal accessory. “Blocked free speech” applies only to a censoring government, not private entities] …The 25th Amendment is of zero risk to me but will come back to haunt Joe Biden and the Biden administration. As the expression goes: Be careful what you wish for. The impeachment hoax is a continuation of the greatest and most vicious witch hunt in the history of our country, and it is causing tremendous anger and division and pain — far greater than most people will ever understand, which is very dangerous for the USA, especially at this very tender time.”
*Also on Jan. 12: The House Judiciary Committee issues a 76-page report of the events before, during and after the January 6 riot that culminated in the deaths of five Americans, including a US Capitol Police officer. It concludes, “President Trump has falsely asserted he won the 2020 presidential election and repeatedly sought to overturn the results of the election. As his efforts failed again and again, President Trump continued a parallel course of conduct that foreseeably resulted in the imminent lawless actions of his supporters, who attacked the Capitol and the Congress. This course of conduct, viewed within the context of his past actions and other attempts to subvert the presidential election, demonstrate that President Trump remains a clear and present danger to the Constitution and our democracy.”
*Jan. 13: As the article of impeachment and House Report head to the House floor for a vote, CNN reports that members of Congress, under pressure from Trump, are “scared” and “fear for their lives and their families.” Appearing on MSNBC, Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO) says, “I had a lot of conversations with my Republican colleagues. … A couple of them broke down in tears … saying that they are afraid for their lives if they vote for this impeachment.”

Motives, planning, outrageous words, and combative actions were publicly disclosed by this Administration and its radical supporters well before November’s election results as Rolling Stone reports going back to 2017. Nonetheless, from Aug. 20th to Oct. 26th, 2020 Trump retweeted QAnon propaganda and conspiracy theories at least 216-times according to Media Matters. By day’s end Jan. 2nd Trump escalated deranged lies even more with his 1-hour phone call to Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to “find 11,780 votes,” that is, make-believe votes. Is not election fraud or voter fraud a felony offense punishable by a year or more in prison, in most 50-states? That is a rhetorical question.

Remember, one man, one office could have immediately stopped the Jan. 6 terrorist attack by making one phone call. The President never considered the safety of other Americans inside the Capitol, much less the overrun Capitol Police Officers. Read this paragraph again please.

Given the non-stop, deranged escalation of lies and misinformation by this President during the following November and December, ‘the writing was clearly on the wall‘ what was about to happen well before the attack Jan. 6th. So WHERE were the additional reinforcements for the safety of the Congressmen and women, the Capitol, and inadequate Capitol Police Officers?

Calls and pleas for additional reinforcements were ignored, overlooked as unnecessary, even unavailable, tied up, and/or delayed… not only in bureaucratic red-tape, but also held ~~hostage~~ up by key Trump loyalists and the President himself. Please tell me, does anyone else see this as a crucial component leading up to and during the attack January 6? Is that not an obviously impeachable crime when the President had a pretty good idea Jan. 5 and 6 what was going to happen at the Capitol that Wednesday?

As the ongoing federal and D.C. investigations continue—already over 30 arrests made and many more to come, including murder investigations—all indications are showing that high level authorities, not excluding the POTUS, were apparently not concerned, were intentionally complicit as to what was transpiring at and inside the Capitol and its two Chambers. This damning evidence of high level disregard and to the highest executive level in the country, the White House, are surfacing by the day. Many of the rioters and terrorists explicitly state on their own social-media videos that “We were invited here. We were invited [to the Capitol] by the President of the United States.“ In the coming days and weeks I am quite confident that because most all of these idiotic terrorists delusionally believed they were “Patriots” and freely broadcasting and posting their criminal behavior and indecency, will add much more condemning evidence collected and subsequent, appropriate prosecutions will be dealt to all guilty terrorists.

I hope this happens exhaustively. Why? Because the alternative long-term consequences for the safety and future of our TRUE Constitutional democracy depends on it for our next 2-4 generations. The House of Representatives impeached this psychotic President in an unprecedented bipartisan vote. Let’s also hope over the next several days, weeks, and months that specific Republicans in the Senate do what must be done to never again allow this delusional, narcissistic deranged man to ever hold office again! Doing that will cement their own American political historical legacy on the correct moral-ethical principles, they swore an oath to uphold, and our Constitution has required from all sitting Congressmen and women for 245-years. Do not believe for one second that by impeaching this fake President “it will only divide this country further.” No, no, NO!!!

Our country has already been deeply divided the last four years! This was already the condition of America well BEFORE this 2nd impeachment. This was exacerbated these last 2-months by the same mentally-unstable man you Republican Trumpanzees constantly enabled for the past two months, on top of these last four years. The overwhelming evidence today is undeniable. It cannot be denied any further in any circus-like Republican diversion. Just STOP you misguided Trump-Republican robots, minions, and enablers. Enough, enough, enough already! The world implores you to come back to reality! By not doing what you must do—you frightened, delusional Republicans—will only prolong this madness and clinical schizophrenic insanity from the White House. Mark my words right now my readers, January 15, 2021: if Trump is not impeached, this nation will suffer in the near future an untold amount of hate, division, delusional lies, and federal-global impotence. Guaranteed.

And remember, one man, one office could’ve immediately stopped the Jan. 6 terrorist attack by making one phone call. The President, nor his own hastily, newly appointed Secretary of Defense (Miller) saw/thought no reason to release police and military reinforcements to the Capitol—yet there were already at least four deaths.

Over the next several days and weeks may cooler, stoic, more intelligent, much more principled, morally ethical heads prevail in this badly fractured hate-filled nation. 😔 Please stay safe everyone from the new variants of COVID-19 and get your vaccinations against them as soon as possible!

A Baseline?

One common definition of a baseline average is this:

A baseline is a fixed point of reference that is used for comparison purposes. A baseline signifies a normal, expected value and makes changes from the norm obvious and calculable. Baselines can be used for anything from health concerns such as heart rate, cholesterol or weight, to financial matters such as income and expenses. Essentially, a baseline calculates as an average taken when conditions are normal and not influenced by unusual events.

That is not what America has had since January 20th, 2017. To repeat President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s speech to Congress Dec. 8, 1941, it is now “January 6th, 2021, a date that will live in infamy…” for the rest of America’s history and darkest hours. A reality baseline became so elusive to half the nation for 3-years. It ramped up more starting in March 2020 with the coronavirus pandemic, then the November-December Presidential election with non-stop propaganda lies from inside the White House, finally culminating to the January 6th, 2021 scenes of what a cult leader and his cult are capable of doing. All reputable, licensed psychotherapists would describe this escalation from Trump as clinical Narcissistic personality disorder with delusional disorder.

This has become the image of the U.S.’s Constitutional baseline for the last four years

After the events that took place at the U.S. Capitol building Wednesday, January 6, 2021, that lead to five pointless deaths and the vandalism of the two chambers of Congress, any semblance of an American baseline has disappeared. Weapons were brought by the Trump-incited mob, including pipe-bombs and Molotov cocktails, as well as many ~~USA chanting~~ terrorists armed with their own riot shields, battering rams and baseball bats, and replaced what was remaining of American normalcy. Many of the Trump-incited mob were in full military combat gear. This is the image of violent anarchy, the antithesis of peaceful, law-based democracy:

It goes without saying, many Americans have completely lost sight of our Constitutional democracy’s baseline, the designed function of its supporting institutions, e.g. the Electoral College certification process, and its due legal, civil processes built into our three-branched government.

Our arrival to this unprecedented, disgraceful, globally embarrassing, beyond indecent, hate-driven insurrection and desecration of the citadel of democracy by our sitting President is so outside the parameters and spirit of a Republic and its Constitution’s guidelines of governing. Governing not by one narcissistic megalomaniac, but by a law-based, “trias politica” or equally impowered three-branched democracy. Nowhere in these two-centuries old basic principals is there mentioned or implied that one man or one office dictates his or its personal desires or seize total control of a nation ruled by laws, not ruled by men or one man. Why is that so often forgotten by American political (militant) extremists and armed protesters?

I have drafted this blog-post a number of times, but the insanity is now occurring so frequently and so fast that I have decided to give up and just publish this. Just an hour or two ago the news broke that Twitter banned President Trump permanently, finally! Finally a social-media platform/company is getting a clue about the serious legal ramifications of what is called criminal accessory. History has repeated and repeated multiple times how egocentric dictators gain control of their 88-million viewing cult members, i.e. gain control of the dissemination (platform) of information—as Joseph Goebbels did in 1939–1945 Nazi Germany—and/or in this case, starting a violent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol for a MAGA “show of strength.”

And then there are all the enablers of this insanely dangerous man FINALLY seeing what their cult leader is truly capable of and in which they supported blindly in denial. Either impeachment or January 20, 2021 cannot get here fast enough!
